The Sherpa Story
Sherpa Adventure Gear was founded in May 2003 by Tashi Sherpa as a living memorial to the unsung heroes of Mount Everest. The brand honors the courage, skill and humility of the Sherpa people, whose contributions have made countless Himalayan journeys possible.
Born from a deep connection to Nepal, Sherpa is inspired by the country’s spiritual traditions, rich culture and relationship with the mountains. These influences can be seen throughout our collections, from distinctive colors and patterns to the stories behind our products.
At our heart is a belief in approaching life with an open mind, a joyful heart and a humble soul. More than a name, Sherpa represents courage, respect and a spirit of curiosity.
The Sherpa Heart – Supporting Education in Nepal
At Sherpa Adventure Gear, we believe every child should have the opportunity to access an education.
Through our partnership with Room to Read, we make a contribution for every purchase. This contribution is calculated to help fund the equivalent of one day of school for a child in Nepal.

Made in Nepal
Made in Nepal means far more to us than where a product is made. It reflects our connection to the country where Sherpa Adventure Gear began and where many of our styles are made, and our commitment to maintaining production partnerships there.
Through our long-standing partner, Khangri Sourcing, part of our collection is produced in factories in Nepal by skilled local teams. We also work with artisan cooperatives whose members hand-knit selected hats.
Producing these items in Nepal provides paid work for the people involved in making them and maintains our connection with the country at the heart of our brand. Each Made in Nepal product showcases the skills and craftsmanship of its makers, something we are proud to recognise and share.
