I have used many different rain/wind jackets and this is by far my favorite. The lining feels great even when just wearing a short sleeve shirt. The cut is big enough for layering without being "ginormous" and the hood will stay on even when the wind is howling. This is a very well made product (love the sturdy zipper) and I am excited to see how durable it is as I just started wearing it. I will use this winter as well as summer as a shell and as I live by the old Swedish saying "theres no bad weather just bad clothes" it will definitely get used and abused.
A well designed rain jacket, my Lithang has been with me everywhere from tropical to alpine environments.
In colder climates it performs well, blocking wind and rain, and there’s room for a few layers.
In warmer climates the pit zips are a lifesaver, and, unlike many cheaper options, the lining doesn’t feel plasticky or stick to one’s skin.
Thoughtful touches like the media system, and stiffened brim are wonderful additions.
The only thing I’d note, is that while the hood is made to be helmet compatible, I’ve always found it just a little more in my face than is comfortable if I’m not wearing a hat or helmet. That said, it’s definitely not a breaking point and in all, I love the jacket.
Note: I began traveling with this jacket prior to becoming an ambassador for Sherpa.
This versatile hard-shell is made for climbing. First of all, this is the first jacket I've seen with two chest pockets which is very handy. Also, when it's fully zipped up it comes all the way up to my nose, even when I have my helmet on. It makes dealing with the elements so much more pleasant. I'm a Sherpa Adventure Gear Ambassador; however my review for this jacket is far from biased. It's a piece of gear that hasn't left my backpack this summer.
This jacket is perfect! It is very warm without being bulky and fits very well with layering underneath. I am not a tall person and have always had an issue with hoods on jackets falling forward and covering my face. The Lithang jacket has an adjustment cord on the top of it to keep the hood from covering my eyes. It fits close around the face and neck without hindering movement and is very easy to move around in. The colors are beautiful and the material of the jacket will last without fading. This is very easy to recommend.
