The same love and warmth of our handcrafted sweaters in a more versatile and layering-friendly vest. Made of soft yet durable lambswool and lined with cozy fleece.
Our handcrafted sweaters are lovingly produced in co-ops in and around Kathmandu. It takes one full day from start to finish to craft one of our wool sweaters. The unique designs capture the timeless traditions and textures of the Himalayas. They also bring vital income to families in Nepal. A beautiful way to make a difference.
For every product Sherpa Adventure Gear sells, a portion of the proceeds are donated to the Sherpa Adventure Gear Fund. Your purchase provides a brighter future to the children of Nepal through empowerment and education.
This vest is absolutely gorgeous. The colors and the pattern are subtle and beautiful. The materials are top quality. I've never seen a woolen vest this thick. You can't tell by the photo, but it is fleece-lined and also has a layer of insulation between the fleece lining and the knit exterior. The hidden chest pocket is huge (you could put a passport in it either horizontally or vertically and still have room). The hand warmer pockets could be deeper (you have to make fists to get your hands in them), but I that's a small nit.
About sizing. I'm gonna be honest and say that if your normal size is XS, SM, or MED—this vest is probably going to be too big for you. (If your normal size is Large—trust me—order an XS.) I'm 5'6" and 115 lbs (XS) and there's just no way I can make it work. I know they sized it to accommodate layers, but even with a 250-weight base layer, a thick wool sweater, my thickest midlayer, an 800-fill down jacket, AND a soft shell, it's STILL too big. (And obviously, you're not going to wear a vest *over* your shell layers. But I really wanted to find a way to make this work.)
I'm so so so so bummed about how large this vest runs. If you're the right size though, GRAB THIS VEST. It's so amazing.
