Also known as the snow saddle, Kangtega is a major mountain peak in the Nepalese Himalayas. Its namesake sweater, which has Nepal-inspired trim and was inspired by the first sweaters worn on Mt. Everest, is made of 100 percent merino wool, so it's odor resistant, naturally wicking, quick to dry, and warm for its weight.
A nice thin sweater for layering over something with long sleeves and a collar. I found it to be a little too scratchy to wear alone which is strange for merino wool. That is my only disappointment.
Any other ladies culprits of scouring the men's sweater section for a comfy, warm crew neck that's loose enough to layer a button down under but doesn't make you look like a dude? Well, your search is over! I love this sweater so much I got two! I'm 5'9" and 160 lbs and the medium fits more snuggly and the large has plenty of room to move so depending on how you want it to fit is how I would choose your size. The wool gets softer after the first wash as well so don't be put off by its initial scratchiness (I'm super super sensitive to itchy fabrics and this one is fine by me). Well done Sherpa!
