Kalpana is the Nepali word for 'dream,' and that's exactly what the Kalpana Hike Tights are. Made from a lightweight, four-way stretch that will not fade, they're quick-drying, breathable, durable, and abrasion-resistant. A wide waistband and gusseted crotch make them comfortable no matter how you move, and zip pockets secure your essentials. The only tight you'll ever need.
I love the fabrication, durability, and sun protection these pants offer! It's handy that the pockets zip shut and are made of an extra-sturdy, slightly wind-resistant fabric.
I wore these pants once while rock climbing and hiking, another while peak bagging in inclement weather.
On both occasions, the pants performed fabulously. The only thing I'd note is that I (at 5'7", 138 lbs, with narrow hips) found the size Small just a bit too big.
Would definitely recommend, perhaps just size down next time!
These leggings are awesome! They are warm, yet not hot in the sun, the soft shell-like material is SO great for hiking, especially through dewey plants. I wore them for a backpacking trip and didn't end up changing pants the whole time (took them off when I slept to get a little air), not smelly, not stretched out. They were awesome! GET EM! I got the green (beautiful color), in a medium and they fit really well! I am 5'10, 150 pounds and they come right above my ankle. I have quite an athletic booty and they fit it well, my waist is tiny and they stay on well with just a little looseness through the day.
I just wore these tights for an almost 5-hour hike on a 90 degree day in Oregon (from 10:30 am to 3:15 pm), so a bit humid, too. Not only were they so comfortable I didn't have to think twice about them (no tugging them up at the waist or pulling them down over my calves), I didn't overheat despite being in full sun for a fair amount of the hike. This hike involved squatting underneath fallen tree trunks, scrambling over a pretty big trunk that required sliding over the top of it, and I also managed to wipe out on a rocky stretch of trail (straight onto my knees) and these bad ass tights didn't even get a scar in the fabric. And at the end of all of that, no stink! I don't need to wash them before wearing again. Like I said...Perfect!
The products are great. You should do a no iron travel shirt in traditional Nepali fabric in a crinkle cotton like Eddie Bauer's. I prefer traditional designs over the same old wovens with flower motifs.
These are very comfortable and very durable- I was able to do a couple of trail runs with my phone. The pants stayed put and didn’t pull down.
