Each product that you purchase provides a donation to Room to Read’s Nepal Education Program. This ‘Day of School’ donation is calculated based on the average daily total of the below costs across Room to Read’s Nepal Education program.
What is a Day of School?
The cost of a day of school consists of four key components, these are:
Girls' Education Programme
Room to Read Nepal introduced a means to identify female students who were at risk of dropping out of school. Through collecting data across their education programs, they identified that girls who exhibited certain risk factors were more than five times as likely to drop out of school as girls who did not show these risk factors. This enabled Room to Read to intervene more promptly through their social mobilizers in Nepal to support girls by conducting home visits, monitoring their progress and summarizing the content of missed lessons so that they were less at risk of falling behind. The Girls’ Education Program has continued to evolve to benefit as many girls in Nepal as possible through holistic support at home and at school, as well as in many of Room to Read’s other countries of operation.
