Insulation
THE KEY HERE IS GETTING AS MUCH WARMTH AS POSSIBLE INTO A LIGHT, COMPRESSIBLE LAYER. For extreme cold, down insulation still gets the prize. But when it looks like the weather man is calling for wet with that cold, go with synthetics. We supply both options in multiple variations. And with our Vajra Pants, we don’t leave your legs out in the cold either. Every piece incorporates years of feedback from our Sherpa athletes who live, work and play in the Himalayan mountains.
This technical, innovative jacket combines the core-heating warmth of our Vajra Vest with the breathability, moisture management and odor resistance of Merino wool in the sleeves.
Need a jacket that will block wind, deflect drizzle, and give you more warmth than the average single-layer windbreaker? Try the Varun.
Like Shankar the destroyer, this jacket obliterates rough mountain conditions so you can focus on the activity at hand. Durable and versatile, its shell is wind and water resistant nylon.
When you suspect your itinerary will include some long hours in a bone-chilling combo of cold, fog, snow or rain, be sure to pack this jacket.
Take the Om wherever you wander. It has the look and feel of your favorite down sweater – but it's insulated with synthetic PrimaLoft® Eco. On cold, wet days, synthetic insulation works better than down.
Late Fall, all Winter, and well into the Spring, the Pangboche Sweater is our favorite all day, inside/outside, never-take-it-off item. When a full-on down jacket is overkill, there is nothing better.
Sometimes extra insulation around your core is all you need to stay toasty. Our ultra-light Vajra Vest layers effortlessly under a shell without feeling bulky.
Throw this jacket on when you're waiting for your turn on the rope. Named after one of the many soaring peaks surrounding Mount Everest, the Khumbuche provides serious warmth for seriously cold conditions.
When you're climbing the world's tallest peaks, your life depends on the quality of your gear. That's why, during the design and testing of our Tenzing 1 Expedition Jacket, we gathered input from experienced Sherpa guides.
When you don't need a full-on parka, but you do need insulation that will deflect wind and cold even in wet conditions (where down won’t do), this full-zip jacket is ideal.
Ever been in a place so cold you wish you could just walk around in your sleeping bag? The Vajra Pant gives your legs the same cozy insulation that usually gets relegated to only the upper body.
